AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

Dr. Eduardo Anitua, founder and scientific director of BTI Biotechnology Institute, has been awarded the Dentist of the Year Prize, awarded by the Spanish Dental Foundation during the Gala Dinner of the School of Dentists held on Friday 14 December. The award is given to odontologists and stomatologists who stand out thanks to their contribution to the improvement, development and promotion of the profession. On this occasion, the distinctions have gone to Dr. Pere Harster Nadal, who was awarded the Santa Apolonia Prize for his contribution to odontology, and Dr. Eduardo Anitua, who was recognised for the importance of his achievements in the defence of oral health. The award primarily acknowledges his research work in oral implantology and regenerative medicine at the clinic bearing his name. The gala, attended by important figures of the profession, also reserved a space to support the different projects of social odontology, such as those carried out at the Luis Seiquer Social Odontology Foundation and the South Mozambique Foundation, to which the General Board of Spanish Dentists donated more than €20,000.

Eduardo Anitua has being awarded at Professional Role Model category for providing certain guidance towards the conduct and like of each individual and social group. The Solidarity Role Model Award has gone to Carmen Amurrio, teacher at Basque University as well as an active member of NGOs.

Dentist of the Year 2011 Award in recognition of its human values, the merit achieved in the defense of oral health, the development and dissemination of studies and research, the performance of social healthcare activities, as well as the practice of any area of dentistry with national and international recognition.

Award granted by the General Council of Colleges of Dentists in Spain.

The Official Medicine Association of Alava (ICOMA) has paid tribute to Dr. Eduardo Anitua and Mikel Sánchez in recognition of their innovative activity in the medicine field and the disclosure of its knowledge.

"Personalities of the Year" award in recognition of his career. The prize, awarded by the station Punto Radio Vitoria, distinguishes the Scientific Director of BTI Biotechnology Institute as "Vitoriano of the Year".

"Lan Onari" distinction for his vocation to medicine and biomedical research.
In this respect, this award recognizes the intense research activity carried out by Dr. Eduardo Anitua to improve the health of the society as well as the continuous effort made to turn the Basque Country into a worldwide reference in regenerative medicine.

Ramon Rubial 2010 Award for Innovation, for his Scientific and Disclosing activity as well as for his efforts in the research and development in oral and maxillofacial implantology and regenerative medicine therapy.

Alava Association of Young Businesspeople (AJEBASK) Award: Recognition of business trajectory.

Decorated with the Medal of Honor by the University of Seville.

Naider Award for Action and Commitment 2007 – Innovation and Intelligent Economies Award.

Gold Medal of the City, granted by the Town Council of Vitoria.

Príncipe Felipe Award for Business Excellence in Technological Innovation (Small & Medium Sized Businesses, PYME).

Alava Citizen of the Year Award 2006, granted by the newspaper El Correo Español, el Pueblo Vasco.

Recognition by the Regional Council of Alava for a significant and extensive professional and research career, having received prestigious national and international awards.

Awarded the Gold Insignia by the Town Council of Vitoria.

Association of Professional and Business Women of Alava (AMPEA) Distinction for Talent and Willingness for professionalism and contributions to economic and employment generation.

SEPES - GASCON Award from the Spanish Stomatology Prosthesis Society (SEPES), for the study: "Effect of tightening torque and construction materials of the screws in implant-shaft post attachment preload".

Recognized in the tenth Sports Gala for a revolutionary plasma application technique.

Basque Country Sports Awards 2003, Award for scientific and technical contribution to sport development.

Award for the best article published in the "Arthroscopy Papers" journal: "Applying Autologous Plasma Rich in Growth Factors in Arthroscopic Surgery".

National Award in Sports Medicine Research. University of Oviedo. "Innovative use of Plasma Rich in Growth Factors for Regenerating the Achilles tendon".

First prize award granted by The Gaceta Dental in the Fifth Odontostomatology Awards for and article published in this magazine: "Evaluation of Bone Regeneration in an Animal Model: Using Plasma Rich in Growth Factors".

Pro-odontology Award granted by the Academy of Medical Science of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands Barcelona.
